The team set the new Guinness world record at 16 days 20 hours and 16 minutes.
We are a team of four: Scott Miller, Paul Cox, Wally Werderich and Judson Steinback, plus our back-up paddler, Joe Mann. We launched our Guinness World Record attempt on May 10th at the Mississippi headwaters at Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota. You can see our split times on RaceOwl. We posted lots of videos and pictures on our Facebook page and Youtube channel. Alex Maier and Amy Robin of Wilderness Mindset filmed a documentary of our attempt; an early “trailer” for the documentary can be found here and below on this site. Alex and Amy plan to have the documentary edited and ready by Spring of 2024. Alex and Amy were part of the crew that filmed a documentary about Dale Sanders’ successful attempt to set the Guinness World Record for fastest trip down the Mississippi in the Summer of 2022.
